Speculative project “Palaimoje”

In the project “Palaimoje”, Lithuanian collective gardens are explored as a speculative future space. A historical phenomenon that once signified fragile politics during the occupation, even under different contemporary social circumstances, continues to reflect the context of the present day. Because of these signalling qualities and their speculative potential, the phenomenon of collective gardens is projected into the future within the project and becomes a witness to a hypothetical future. Here, we encounter the fate of the fictional collective garden Palaima and one of its residents, Vilius Kukoras, through which the condition of a future world is encrypted.
