The object of this thesis is an abandoned monastery located at Rasų Street 6, Vilnius. House of Contemplation is a modern monastery that combines different cognitive activities in art, philosophy and theology. Contemplation is the highest form of cognition, focusing on one. You can separate yourself from the surrounding world, live in rooms designed according to authentic cell prototypes, and perform different contemplation practices. The interior combines baroque heritage and the symbolism of prison history: next to the vaults, brutal elements are used, creating a contrast that, as an art tool, helps to strengthen the awareness of contemplation.
