Laboratory of Inactivity

Laboratory of Inactivity is a critical design installation exploring the stigmatization of ageing within the culture of productivity. Using found objects, spatial design, and speculative narratives, it questions the pressure to remain endlessly “useful”. A hybrid of an old walker and office chair, a video voiced by the artist’s grandmother, and a myth-inspired “fountain of youth” infusion system highlight tensions between ageing, productivity, and biohacking. An embedded QR code links to a fictional webpage advertising “youth water,” satirizing wellness marketing. The project invites critical reflection on ageing in capitalist Western society.
